Drawing Tips Ruth suggests sketching on every piece of "junk mail" that comes into your home. Sketch what is at hand: The coffee pot, toaster, flower arrangement, calendar picture, or the countryside as seen from the window. Sketch the common things you are familiar with. At first it will seem awkward and crude, but it is surprising how quickly your awareness and ability will improve. One of Ruth's personal slogans from her 4-H leader days is "Learn to do by Doing". The Desire to Paint is the most important ingredient for an aspiring artist. The motto at the Goldsberry Gallery is, "You can do anything you care to do IF you care enough to do your very best". |
